The Wind Turbine Foreman role requires the ability to lead, direct, coach and motivate crews relating to the erection of wind turbines. Additionally, the Foreman will provide coaching and development for junior technicians in this role. Under direct supervision from the Construction Manager, the Wind Turbine Foreman utilizes skills and training to provide clear direction in the construction of wind turbines at an advanced level. EWR is a full-service wind energy solutions provider offering turnkey installation, maintenance, crane services, project planning, and more to wind farms across North America.

Key Accountabilities:

• Supervises and leads a team responsible for the erection and installation of tower sections, blades and nacelles on Wind Turbines.
• Responsible for ensuring processes are completed properly and accurately in the area of your supervision. Goal of 0 punch list items.
• Supervisor for the crew responsible for the rigging of turbine components, communicating with the crane operators during piece lifts, torqueing of bolts for putting components from rotors, blades and towers together.
• Coaches the erection crew in areas of learning and development in their respective roles.
• Typical crew responsibility will be 5-10 subordinates.
• Contributes to the overall positive team culture of the organization.
• Closely adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Identifies risks and gaps in safety execution in the operational environment and either stops work / escalates or implements defined and appropriate mitigation methods with appropriate oversight. Demonstrates risk-averse safety behavior at all times. Encourages and recognizes others completing safe acts and intervenes when unsafe acts are practiced.
• Demonstrates integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.
• Performs advanced level wind turbine construction and/or installation tasks as required.
• The working Foreman must be physically present in the area your team is working in. At all times you are expected to observe behavior, quality of workmanship, safety, attitudes, proper use of tooling and rigging, vehicle and equipment damage, execution of instructions and required manual installation procedures. At no time will the foreman be observing from a vehicle. This is a dedicated supervisory role.
• Expected to guide employees, oversee progress, provide positive feedback and areas of improvement to members of your team. This includes participating in meetings regarding performance assessments and understanding the career goals of your crew.
• Communicate information to the Erection crew will be the responsibility of the Foreman in charge of this crew. As discussed, your main position on the job site will be to lead this team. Information regarding safety incentive programs, photo campaigns, company HR policies, company Safety policies, company site policies, etc, will be your responsibility to present in discussions with your team
• Planning team absences will be the responsibility of the Foreman. Approving leave for the Erection crew will be your responsibility understanding need to backfill any vacancies. This requires understanding of individual abilities and knowledge for cross-training purposes.
• Your team must abide by the corporate policy. It is your duty to report incidents immediately, follow-up accordingly, complete necessary documentation, discipline and action as the situation requires.

• Consult HR and Safety on site as required
• Attend and participate in daily foreman meetings
• Review, and submit time cards for your crew daily in the time required by site.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum four(4) year’s experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and/or composite skills
• Minimum two (2) years experienced in a related Erection supervisory role
• Ability to demonstrate basic industrial safety practices / protocols
• Climb trained Certified
• Experience using basic power and hydraulic tools.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills
• Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow guidance
• Basic computer operation skills

Additional Required Abilities:

• Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights over 100 meters.
• Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent.
• Strong field of vision including visual depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.
• Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions.
• Comfort working remotely in a Turbine as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction.

Working Conditions:

• Travel required.
• Ability to travel within the U.S.
• Overtime may be required, including working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives.
